From Our District Governor
Connect with Rotary

As we stand at the start of February, it's a time for celebration and planning for the future of our district. We are encouraging all clubs to have a special social later this month - encouraging new people to Leap into Rotary. This zone-wide initiative offers a great opportunity to build awareness of Rotary in your communities, and support the work of this district in the future. This newsletter includes more details. In just a few short weeks, President Elects from all over Georgia will meet for Multi-District PETS in Atlanta.

There are a couple of special events I'd like to highlight - a visit from RI President Mark and Gay Maloney this April, and our District Conference in Jekyll Island from April 30-May 3.

CONNECT WITH RI PRESIDENT MARK AND FIRST LADY GAY MALONEY

We invite you to join us on April 14 in welcoming Rotary International's First Lady Gay Maloney and her husband, RI President Mark Maloney in early April at Gay's Alma Mater, Agnes Scott College in Atlanta. There will be a reception and dinner; watch for details in the near future.

CONNECT WITH GEORGIA

Join us from April 30-May 3, 2020 for a celebration of our Rotary District and the clubs that make it so special.

  • Thursday night – Taste of the District, featuring the hometown specialties of many of the D6900 clubs
  • Friday night – Jimmy’s Fish Camp, featuring my favorite local seafoods as a Coastal Georgia native
  • Saturday night – Kentucky Derby celebration and welcome for 2020-21 Governor Kirk Driskel

We'll also be handing out awards and showcasing the wonderful work and generosity of District 6900. You can register today on the district website.

Thank you for all you are doing to make this world a better place.

DG Jim
