This year, the Rotary Club of North Atlanta awarded college scholarships to three outstanding seniors and members of the Chamblee Charter High School (CCHS) Interact Club: Kingston Handley ($1,500), Hanna Podhorzer ($1,250) and Kavi Pandian ($1,000).
To provide these scholarships, the North Atlanta Rotary Foundation matches club member donations.
The Rotary Club of North Atlanta is a sponsor of CCHS’s Interact Club. Recipients were chosen by the North Atlanta Rotary Foundation Board of Directors primarily for their service to their fellow students, their teachers and the community, and secondarily for academic achievement. They have positively impacted their schools and communities, exemplifying Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self, and our hope is that these scholarships will encourage them to continue good works during the next phase of their education. While there is a heavy emphasis on service, scholarships are not limited to Interact Club members.
Next year, the North Atlanta Foundation is pledging to match 2 for every one dollar raised by members (up to $4,000), allowing us to give three $2,000 scholarships.
