North Carolina, from AP photographer Jeffrey Collins
Like you, the Leadership of Rotary District 6900 has been watching and accessing the impact of Hurricane Dorian. The pictures and commentary assessment of the damage to the Bahamas, Florida, and now the Carolina’s has tugged at our hearts and we all want to do what Rotarians always do - help those less fortunate, help those feeling the horrible impact of the storm’s fury.
As we assess the damage caused by Hurricane Dorian, we would encourage you to do the following:
If you want to give immediately to help those affected in the Bahamas by Hurricane Dorian, please consider supporting the work being done by MAP International to provide Disaster Health Kits to the Bahamas www.map.org/dorian. The District has supported this Brunswick, Georgia-based organization and its relief efforts on numerous occasions in the past.
Rotary Zone 33-34 has set up Donor Advised Fund 574 for Dorian (501-c-3), and money may be sent to Rotary International marked for DAF 574. These funds will be administered by Rotary International.
The District 6900 Charitable Fund (501-c-3) has set up a Hurricane Dorian account, and can now accept checks written to the Rotary District 6900 Charitable Fund marked Disaster Relief. Please send your checks to James Marosek, Treasurer, Rotary District 6900, 2810 Premier Parkway, Suite 200, Duluth, GA 30097. Credit Card giving is forthcoming by the end of the day at the District 6900 website, www.rotary6900.org. Simply click on the Disaster Relief button.
Wait until we assess the total impact of the storm and provide a plan of action for contributions to worthy projects in both the Caribbean and the United States
ALL of the MONEY COLLECTED (100%) will go to aid. As Rotary Connects the World, we urge you to become a part of this Disaster Relief opportunity NOW!
